Curtis was the daughter of Carmencita Ojales from Bolinao Pangasinan in Australia as well as James Ernest Curtis Smith an Australian lawyer was born on July 25, 1970, at Yarrawonga. Her father got married Ojales at the age of 22 in 1982. Her younger sister, who is also an actor, is her father.
